ATL: Boulton’s Back

Unrestricted free agent Eric Boulton had no desire to leave Atlanta, and the Thrashers were happy to keep their enforcer on the roster.

On Tuesday, Boulton and the Thrashers agreed to a one-year deal worth $650,000.

The 33-year old has played five seasons in Atlanta, and his wife is from Georgia.

“It’s very stressful for you and your family,” Boulton told the Atlanta Journal Constitution. “You don’t know if you’ll have a job or you’ll be moving and uprooting your family. This made a lot of sense for us.”

Boulton had 13 fighting majors last season and a team-high 113 penalty minutes. He scored two goals and six assists in 62 games for the Thrashers.
