The San Jose Sharks have made a minor trade ahead of Friday’s 2010 NHL Entry Draft as they have sent forward Brad Staubitz to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for a fifth round pick.
The Wild will still need to sign the 25-year old Staubitz to retain his rights as he is scheduled to become a restricted free agent on July 1st.
Staubitz, who earned $500,000 last season had three goals and three assists in 47 games while wracking up 110 minutes in penalties. He missed 19 regular season games with a facial injury and did not play during the Sharks playoff run due to a lower-body injury.
The Bright’s Grove, Ontario native was originally signed by the Sharks as a free agent in 2005.
Wild fans, is this the end of the Boogeyman in Minnesota? Comment with your thoughts.
