NHL Nightly Overtime – 2/5
Tonight’s action featured some NHL GIFs of a defensive breakdown, an absolute beatdown, and a scare to a fanbase, a first career goal, and an OT winner.
Rick Nash of the New York Rangers with a brutal play in his own end in front of the net to lead to the goal by David Clarkson of the New Jersey Devils, who had a pretty solid fist pump (fitting for New Jersey). The Devils went on to win the game 3-1.
Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins took a puck to the nose off of a redirect from the stick of Mark Streit of the New York Islanders. He returned to the game shortly after leaving for some treatment. The Penguins went on to win the game on Long Island by a score 3-2, their 4th win in a row.
Zac Rinaldo of the Philadelphia Flyers dropped the gloves with B.J. Crombeen of the Tampa Bay Lightning and well…it was…um….a beatdown to say the least. The Flyers beat the Lightning 2-1.
Marc-Andre Fleury of the Pittsburgh Penguins flashed the leather to deflect the puck out of play on a great scoring chance from Matt Martin of the New York Islanders.
Richard Clune of the Nashville Predators showed some great ‘Hockey IQ’ to go to the net and put himself in great position to get the puck behind Brian Elliott of the St. Louis Blues for his first NHL goal. The Predators beat the Blues 6-1.
Bryan Little of the Winnipeg Jets scored in OT on a nasty wrist shot to beat the Florida Panthers 3-2.
