I love the salary cap wrinkle — even though I haven’t done a lot of these — I challenge you all to beat me. Fantasy enthusiasts all over the country are now participating in daily fantasy leagues for cash on DraftStreet.com. And here at The Hockey Guys, we’ve partnered up with Draftstreet to do a free one-day NHL fantasy league with $100 in prizes to the top-five finishers exclusively for The Hockey Guys members and readers.
So how will we play? This is a salary cap league where everyone tries to assemble the best team out of the available players who are scheduled to play for that night (Thursday, Nov. 17). You will have a $100,000 budget to build a team of two left wingers, two right wingers, two centers, two defensemen, one goalie and a utility/flex position. Each NHL player has been allocated a price based on their expected fantasy performance. For example, Capital sniper LW Alex Ovechkin costs $15,178 while stud goaltender Pekka Rinne costs $25,243.
You can adjust your roster up until the contest start’s on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. ET at which time your rosters will lock and the Live Scoreboard will be available.
