Trades that have led to potential in Philly

So the last couple days, I bashed a lot of the not so well known trades that the Flyers have made that turned out to be decent NHLer’s.

Here is a list of some not so well known deals the Flyers have benefited from. These players are not blue-chip prospects by any means, but most of these players are a key part of the Flyers present/future, have lots of upside in the organization and project to be solid players.

These are some of the notable players I came across:

In July 2001, the Flyers moved Daymond Langkow to Calgary in exchange for 2003 first round pick (Jeff Carter).

In July 2005, the Philadelphia Flyers traded a second round pick (Pier-Oliver Pelletier) to Phoenix in exchange for fourth rounder (Jeremy Duchense) and 2006 second rounder (Andreas Nodl).

In January 2006, the Flyers sent Jon Sim to the Florida Panthers for 2007 sixth round pick (Patrick Maroon).

In June 2006, the Flyers exchanged third round pick (Ryan White) with the Montreal Canadians for a third round pick (Jonathan Matsumoto) and fourth round pick (Jakub Kovar).

In June 2007, the Flyers traded 2008 second round pick (Dmitri Kugryshev) and Nashville’s third round pick (previously acquired) (Phil Desimone) to the Washington Capitals for second round pick (Kevin Marshall).

In February 2008, the Flyers said goodbye to Jim Vandermeer, in exchange for 2009 third round pick (Adam Morrison).

In June 2008, the Flyers sent R.J. Umberger and fourth round pick (Drew Olson) to Columbus in Exchange for first round pick (Luca Sbisa) and third round pick (Marc-Andre Bourdon).

In June 2008, the Flyers moved seventh round pick Nick Pryor to The Ducks of Anaheim in exchange for 2009 seventh round pick (Oliver Lauridsen).

In June 2008, the Flyers shipped Vinny Prospal to the Tampa Bay Lightning for seventh round pick (Joacim Eriksson).

In June 2008, the Flyers sent defenseman Janne Niskala to Tampa Bay for 2009 sixth round pick (Dave Labrecque).

In November 2008 Philadelphia traded Steve Eminger, Steve Downie and Tampa Bay’s previously acquired 2009 fourth round pick in exchange for Matt Carle and San Jose 2009 third round pick (Simon Bertilsson).

In October 2009, the Flyers moved Michael Ratchuk to Columbus for Stefan Legein.
